Liquid Injection Mold (LIM) Set Up Technician

Da/Pro Rubber is currently looking for an experienced Liquid Injection Molding (LIM) Set Up Tech to join our team at the Owasso, OK location. 

This facility is located at 6712 N. Canton Avenue, just off Hwy 75 and 66th St North.

This position is scheduled to work Monday to Friday 7 am to 3 pm in a climate-controlled environment.

Starting pay is up to $21.00 per hour, depending on experience.

JOB SUMMARY:

Sets up and/or tends to molds for press machines based on job traveler and production needs.  Performs sample runs before releasing to the press operator.  Inspects and cleans mold before and after production runs.

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Performs all operations and functions for Liquid Injection Press’s, tooling and supporting equipment.
• Reads job travelers to determine molding specifications and tooling instructions.
• Pulls required mold(s) from storage.
• Inspects mold(s) for defects and cleanliness.
• Mounts, installs, aligns mold and/or other work pieces on to press manually or by using hoist.
• Secures molds and/or other work pieces using basic hand and/or power tools.
• Conducts tests and inspects mold to insure mold is secure and verifies part quality.
• Creates SOP’s and WI’s as needed
• Applies LEAN Methodology, drives continual improvement of processes and product quality.
• Works closely with Engineering and Maintenance to improve tooling and equipment uptime.
• Trains others as needed
• Other duties as assigned

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Knowledge in Plastics and/or Rubber Industry
• Minimum of 5 years as a press operator
• Minimum of 1 year as a Set-Up Tech with demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving skills
• Demonstrated skills as a hands person with mechanical aptitude

SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Basic reading and writing
• Computer knowledge necessary
• Must be able to use basic hand tools and power tools
